Collins Bug Replaces the DXCC Bug at KY6R

My favorite receiver – the Collins 75A-4

Sure – modern technology is fantastic. But I have found that this 1955 vintage receiver actually holds it own against today’s modern SDR rigs. That’s absolutely insane – but its true! Plus – the “user interface” is so much more fun than today’s rigs.

Don’t be surprised if something like this ends up here in the shack . . .

I’m not kidding – DXCC is really getting in the way of what I really want to do – which is go back in time. The DXCC bug bit in 2001 – but that sting left me in about 2013. I’ve been dragging it around like a dead cat.

Collins KWS-1 Transmitter

All of a sudden I want a matching transmitter for the 75A-4. It can be the KWS-1 – or even another Collins transmitter.
