I woke up to find some lightning crashes on the radio
The cause is the unstable air behind what is our usual Winter weather pattern that descends from Alaska
We usually get one rain storm in October, and usually its about an inch or so. Then it can be fairly dry again until about the end of November. It varies, but that’s a good bet anyway. Its way too early to tell what the rainy season will be like – it can be anything on any year.
NOAA predicts that we will be somewhat below our normal rainfall for most of the rest of the month
Why does this matter? Besides hoping that we don’t have any more “Diablo winds”, I also like to have an idea of what my cycling to BART will be like – will I get rained on? Will I need to take the bus instead of riding my bike?
Without a car, its important to know what the weather will be like. Luckily, the BUS goes right to and from BART from a block or so away from my house – so I am always covered regardless of weather.
